  • Do I need a visa?
British nationals need a visa to enter mainland China, including Hainan Island, but not Hong Kong or Macao. With effect from 1 November 2018, all visa applicants aged between 14 and 70 inclusive will need to attend a biometric appointment at a designated centre with complete and correct documentation. Any errors or data omissions will result in non-submission at the appointment..
  • Can China-Visa.co.uk help me apply for Visa's for other countries?
No , we are designiated agents for the Chinese Embassy in the UK and specialise in Chinese visa applications only 
  • I have never had a Chinese visa before, can I apply for a multiple entry 24-month visa?
Yes, however all UK passport holders will automatically be issued a 24-month multiple entry visa for both tourist and business purposes. No single entry visa's for UK passport holders are available.
  • I’m entering china on a cruise numerous times, what documents do I need to submit?
Those travelling to China on a cruise must ask the cruise company that they are travelling with to send them a full itinerary of the places you will be visiting on the cruise, including the traveller’s name. Once you have these documents you can purchase your visa on our website, download the application form and bring all documents to us, then we can process your application for you.
  • How long is the visa valid for?
Depending on which visa you choose, depends on how long it will be valid for. For UK passport holders the visa will be valid for 24 months from the date of issue.
  • Do I need to leave China before my visa expires?
No. You must enter china before your visa expires. Then whilst in china you have a duration stay which varies depending on the duration stay you have chosen.
  • What’s the fastest possible service you provide?
The fastest service we offer is our express service which takes 48hours to process from consulate submission. However, there is often a delay for biometric appointments at certain embassy’s at peak times. We can offer next day appointments at some embassy’s for Express service. 
  • Are there any specific requirements the photograph must meet?
The photograph must be a standard passport sized photograph which is to be taken on a white background. It must only display your full head and shoulders and have been taken within the last 6 months. It must also be in digital form for uploading. A paper copy is also required at submission.
  • Can I apply for a 5- or 10-year visa?
As of 25th March 2019, the Chinese Embassy and Consulates in the U.K. will accept applications for 5-year or 10-year multiple entry visas from British citizens who are going to visit China for the purposes of commercial/trade activities (M visa), tourism (L visa), short-term family visits (Q2 Visa), short-term personal affairs (S2 Visa), if they meet one of the following requirements:

• If the applicant has been granted two or more 2-year multiple entry visas by the Chinese Embassy or Consulates in the U.K., he/she can apply for a 5-year multiple entry visa;

• If the applicant has been granted one multiple entry visa valid for two or more years by the Chinese Embassy or Consulates in the U.K., and visited China at least three times each year during the past two years, he/she can apply for a 5-year multiple entry visa;

• If the applicant has been granted one 5-year multiple entry visa by the Chinese Embassy or Consulates in the U.K., he/she can apply for a 10-year multiple entry visa;

• British spouses and children of Chinese citizens, British citizens with Chinese heritage and their spouses and children, who are going to China for the purpose of short-term family visits, at the invitation of one of their family members from China (spouses, parents, parents of spouses, children, spouses of children, siblings, grandparents, grandchildren)


• If the applicant has been granted two or more 2-year multiple entry visas by the Chinese Embassies and Consulates, he/she can apply for a 10-year multiple entry Q2 visa

• If the applicant has been granted one multiple entry visa by the Chinese Embassies and Consulates valid for two or more years, he/she can apply for a 5-year multiple entry Q2 visa. Additionally, if the above applicant has visited China at least three times each year during the past two years, he/she can apply for a 10-year multiple entry Q2 visa.
